It is necessary to log in before editing pages and viewing certain others. It does provide additional features, and is generally recommended.

Logging in

Creating a Awin user account means that you supply a username and a password. A user account is created only once. You are then "logged in" to our platform which automatically logs you into the Wiki.

Edits you make are recorded under your username, which comes from our platform.

Why log in?

You don't have to log in to read some of the articles. You will, however, be promoted to log in if you wish to edit any of the existing articles or create a new article.

So, it's still a good idea to create an account and log in, for these reasons:

  • You will be able to make edits
  • You are able to create pages
  • You are able to view all relevant areas
  • You will be able to keep track of changes to pages you are interested in using a watch list.

How to log in

First, make sure that your browser accepts cookies. Some browsers can accept or reject cookies from individual sites; users of these should configure the browser to accept cookies from the interface and the Wiki if you plan to edit.

Navigate to our platform and then you will be able to login. You will then be prompted to enter your email and password. If you have not logged in before, you will need to use the link provided to create an account.

Once you have logged in then a cookie is automatically dropped to allow you access to the Wiki.

- Log in problems

If you find yourself unable to log in, you may have one of several problems.

- Enable cookies

If you appear to have logged in, but as soon as you try to look at a page after 'Log in successful', you appear logged out again, it is very likely to be a cookie problem. See this brief tutorial on how to enable cookies for your browser.

Make sure your computer's date and time are set correctly; if they are not, cookies may expire before they are supposed to. Note that some firewall and ad-blocking software may interfere with the cookie that Wiki uses to keep a person logged in.

- What if I forget the password?

Please use the "Forgotten Password" link on the platform login page to retrieve a lost password.

- Creating an account

To create an account, please navigate to our platform and follow the steps. You will need to provide an email and password.

- Wiki Login Problems

If you are having trouble logging into the Wiki then this can be solved by employing the below fixes:

Fix One:

  • Log out of the Awin platform
  • Clear your browser cookies
  • Log Back in to our platform and navigate to the wiki.

This should remove the platform and Wiki footprints and then create them again from scratch upon login. This should match up the cookies.

Fix Two:

  • Login to the Awin platform
  • Navigate to your Personal Settings
  • Change your password
  • Logout and then login and navigate to wiki

The Wiki is provided via 3rd party software and the two systems (AW Platform and Wiki) can occasionally mismatch the cookies.

If neither of the above work then please contact the Technical Services team via the Awin ticketing system.

How to log out

You can log out any time by clicking on the Log out link at the top left of the page. This will also log you out of the AW platform.

Deleting your account

It is not possible to delete user accounts. One reason for this is the need for all contributions to be assigned to some identifier; either a username or, in the case of anonymous contributions, an IP address.
