ShopWindow Vertical Developments – The Entertainment Portal
ShopWindow are always busy redeveloping certain verticals to maximise the offering and potential for affiliates. A few months ago the Entertainment Portal was released boasting a new widget technology dubbed "Managed Widgets" and now it is becoming increasingly more effective as the solution grows. With the portal redesign it is easy for affiliates to keep the design within the look and feel of their own site so that the end users will see a seamless journey when going to and from the portal and back to the full shop.
Entertainment
The Entertainment Portal brings what were originally four parent categories all under one umbrella. You will know find that Books Music, DVDs and Games are all under Entertainment in one easy to find and easy to manage area.
Managed Widgets
Managed Widgets are content widgets that contain products carefully selected and managed by ShopWindow. You don't need to worry about this hassle free widget as the content is regularly updated. Available in a range of sizes getting a Managed Widget couldn't be easier; they are available via the Content Widgets link (on the right of the Admin Area). Where you can select the type and size of widget you want and customise it to fit with your website.
When the Entertainment Portal launched a flurry of Managed Widgets were created including Top Ten DVDs, Top Ten Gaming Pre-Orders and Top Ten New Music Releases. Collaborating all of these together then you can create your very own Entertainment Portal as seen here.
Two Integration Options
There are two ways that you can integrate this development: 1. Integrate all of the Managed Widgets to form a bolt on Entertainment Channel to an existing site 2. Integrate the Managed Widgets independently to compliment existing content on your website
There are a number of templates available in the Content Widget system that can maximise the potential that this solution possesses. A whole host of new seasonal templates, to get everyone in the mood for the festive season, have been uploaded to your affiliate account and can be used in conjunction with the Managed Widgets to deliver some fantastic ways to monetise your sites.
