Looking after your programme - the basics
From Wiki
As you continue with the management of your programme on Affiliate Window, we advise you to take the following actions. These are aimed at improving your programme and optimising its performance.
Building Relationships with Existing Affiliates
The following lists a number of possible actions to be taken to help develop long-term relationships with your existing affiliates:
1. Send regular best seller lists and press updates to your affiliates.
2. Communicate with the affiliates on your programme as regularly as necessary, either via the News Manager or on a one-to-one basis through email, phone or Instant Messenger.
3. Set up target incentives and promotions for your affiliates.
4. If you have not done so sign up to the A4Uforum. To access the forum go to www.affiliates4u.com. You can choose to join as a merchant to allow you to post on the forum. Affiliate Window has its own area where you can post information about your programme.
It is also worth checking regularly as any problems with or questions about the programme can be raised here. Posting regularly and getting involved with the forum community can help your programme’s reputation and efficiency. Any new promotions can also be publicised here.
Key Daily Checks
An efficient affiliate programme requires daily management. If areas are neglected for too long then they may start to hinder any future growth of the programme.
Every time you log into your merchant provider area please ensure that you check your ‘To Do’ list at the bottom of the provider area.
You will need to check the following on a daily basis:
1. Check that your tracking is working – to do this go to Affiliate Performance – Today and look for pending commissions. If you have no orders through the day place a test transaction, if this does not appear in your account contact Technical Support
2. Validate as many pending commissions as possible
3. Check your product feed is available and up to date
4. Check your creative is up to date
5. Check your reporting
6. Check programme stats
7. Handle any affiliate enquires
